APR '13 SquareHue - Bloom Collection

It's my favorite time of the month again...SquareHue time! If you still don't know about SquareHue, you can learn more from my posts HERE, HERE & HERE or from their website.

April's offerings, aptly named the Bloom Collection, include some perfectly spring-y pastels. The colors are Yellow Submarine (a muted yellow with the slightest shimmer), Flower Power (bright spring green creme) & Groovy Love (saturated lilac creme). I'll chat about the formulas after the good part...the pics!

Pretty colors, right? Unfortunately I had a little bit of trouble with the formula on a couple of them, but I guess that's to be expected with pastels so I can't fault SquareHue too much. Groovy Love had a great formula, opaque in 2 coats. Flower Power was a little streaky & needed a 3rd coat for full opacity. Then there's Yellow Submarine. Oh man, this guy was a pain. Again, it's pastel & it's yellow so I was expecting to work a little. It took about 4 coats to get it even & opaque but the color is great & the subtle shimmer is a really nice touch.

Overall, while this isn't my favorite of the SquareHue collections, I do think that the colors are perfect for the season & they are flattering once they are on. You might have to work a little, but the payoff is worth it.  I can see all of these being great undies for some glitter, so I will definitely have to keep them in mind in the future!

Have you signed up for SquareHue yet? What are your thoughts? Predictions for the May collection?
