JUN '13 SquareHue - SoBe Collection

Let me preface this by saying that you may have noticed the lack of post about the May SquareHue box. This is so for a couple of reasons: 1) The May box came when I was in the midst of a complete apathy k-hole. I literally could not do anything except go to work, come home & sit. 2) While they were very pretty, I couldn't come up with a whole lot to say about 3 pink polishes. I've used them a few times since I got them so I definitely give them high marks...I just couldn't get it up to write a post. Sorry, friends

That being said, I'm completely obsessed with the June SoBe Collection! Inspired by the vibrant South Beach area of Miami, these polishes are perfect for summer & super flattering. The colors included are Lincoln Road (dove grey creme), Ocean Drive (mint creme) & Collins Avenue (almost-neon coral with subtle shimmer). I really like that they included a super bright, typically summer color like Collins Avenue & then paired it with a cool mint & a neutral grey. The colors look amazing together & lend themselves well to nail art & combinations. Of course, my camera had a hard time capturing Collins Avenue because it's so bright, but a couple of the pics below are pretty true to the shade. Ready for the pics??

APR '13 SquareHue - Bloom Collection

It's my favorite time of the month again...SquareHue time! If you still don't know about SquareHue, you can learn more from my posts HERE, HERE & HERE or from their website.

April's offerings, aptly named the Bloom Collection, include some perfectly spring-y pastels. The colors are Yellow Submarine (a muted yellow with the slightest shimmer), Flower Power (bright spring green creme) & Groovy Love (saturated lilac creme). I'll chat about the formulas after the good part...the pics!

MAR '13 SquareHue - O'Hue Collection

Oh man...SquareHue knocking it out of the park again! The March box contains the appropriately named O'Hue Collection - 3 St. Patrick's Day themed shimmer polishes. In the interest of full disclosure, I honestly wasn't too sure about 2 of these polishes when I opened the box yesterday. They just didn't seem like my style, which I guess is always a risk with subscription services like SquareHue. I am happy to report, however, that I was totally eating my words when I used them on my nails. SO pretty!

The polishes included in the O'Hue Collection are Amber Lager (a coppery, burnt orange shimmer), Blond Ale (a light champagne gold shimmer) & Patty's Pint (a not-too-deep forrest green shimmer). I love the beer-related names! Perfect for a holiday so closely related to heavy drinking, haha.

FEB '13 SquareHue - Vintage Love Collection

After the success that was the January SquareHue box, I was super antsy to get my February box to see if they could keep it up. Needless to say I tore into it as soon as it arrived & was not disappointed!

If you haven't heard of the SquareHue subscription service, you can check out my first review post HERE or check out their website HERE.

February's Vintage Love Collection includes 1 sexy vampy & 2 girly, romantic shades that are perfect for more than just Valentine's Day. The polishes included are Dear John (a deep, blackened burgundy shimmer - one of those polishes that looks like it's glowing from the inside out), High School Crush (a sheer light pink creme) & Wartime Romance (a medium-rose, mauve-ish creme). Let's get into the photos!

JAN '13 SquareHue - Arctic Collection

I signed up for SquareHue the day I heard about it & I've been patiently waiting to receive my first box ever since! Yesterday was my lucky day I guess, because this little box of goodness was waiting for me in the mail.

SquareHue is a new polish-centric subscription service that has internet lacquerheads all atwitter, especially those of us who may have grown weary of certain other monthly polish boxes (tiny bottles, too many repeats, often poor customer service...bleh). The polishes included are 3-Free, Camphor Free, Cruelty Free & made in the USA. A subscription will run you $21/month with free shipping, which I think is totally worth it for 3 full .5oz bottles of polish! The subscription can also be paused & cancelled as you see fit. You can sign up on SquareHue's website now to secure your February box & you should probably move quickly since the January collection sold out!

The January box contains SquareHue's Arctic Collection. The polishes included are Midnight Flurries (a dusty medium blue with scattered holo glitter), Arctic Frost (a sheer white flake-ish glitter/shimmer) & Glacier Skies (a light sky blue creme). In the interest of getting these pics up as soon as I could, I swatched these on a nail wheel instead of on my own nails. My apologies, I was just SO anxious! Click any of the photos to enlarge.

Welcome to the SquareHue family!

SquareHue!

Guess what? There's a new polish subscription service & I'm pretty excited about it!

It's called SquareHue & it looks promising. I found out about it from THIS post from one of my favorite nail polish bloggers, The PolishAholic. She has lovely pics of the December box polishes on her blog (as well as a coupon code to get your monthly box for only $14.99!).

After months of threatening to cancel my Julep subscription (after many customer service issues, among other things), I finally did it today & decided to sign up for SquareHue instead. The polishes are larger (a full .5oz vs Julep's .27oz) &, with the coupon code, the box is cheaper ($14.99/month with the coupon code vs Julep's $19.99/month price tag). Unlike Julep, there are no style options to choose from each month. They simply send you the 3 curated polishes, so hopefully they have some good ones. I can't wait to find out!

I will be receiving my first box in January & will definitely be reviewing it here so be sure to check back if you're curious!
