Cell Shot: Deborah Lippmann - Do The Mermaid

Hi everyone! Someday soon I promise I will be able to stop apologizing for not posting as often, but for today...I'm sorry! I do have a quick post for you today though because I just couldn't wait to show off this polish. Deborah Lippmann's Do The Mermaid is part of her Summer 2013 Mermaids collection which was created due to the popularity of Mermaid's Dream (easily one of my favorite polishes of all time). Here's a quick photo that I took on my phone (pardon the nubbin nails...stress = nail biting relapse):

Deborah Lippmann - Do The Mermaid

Does it live up to the beauty of the original Mermaid's Dream? I'd say...yes! I love this polish. I scooped up 3 out of the 4 Mermaids & I wasn't going to post any of them until I could put together a full post on all of them together, but I just couldn't wait. I think that this is the perfect summer polish & I'm so excited to see if the others are equally as pretty. I mean, look at it! Shimmer, glitter, pastels, oh my!

The formula was a breeze. The photo above is 2 coats with topcoat. Dry time was super fast & glitter payoff was perfection (as Lippmann's usually are). There will definitely be a full post coming soon that includes the other 2 Mermaids that I picked up, Mermaid's Kiss & Million Dollar Mermaid. I skipped out on Mermaid's Eyes because I thought it might be just a little TOO similar to Mermaid's Dream...but who knows, maybe I'll add that one to the collection someday, too.

Last but certainly not least, I want to remind everyone that Google Reader is going to be gone soon. Head over to BlogLovin to follow Keep Your Nail Game Fresh!

Have a great Sunday! <3

Chanel - Taboo

I'd been holding out for so long. I always thought I could find something similar for less money. My spending had gotten extreme but I felt like as long as I didn't do that ONE THING I could justify it all. Well, I finally broke down you guys...I bought my first Chanel polish & boy, is it a GOOD one!

There's not much to say about Chanel Taboo other than 1) it's so multifaceted & simply GORGEOUS [burgundy AND blue shimmer!?], 2) the formula was a dream [almost a 1 coater!] & 3) I am completely obsessed with it! Of course my photos don't do it justice, but here they are:

The rest of the photos are AFTER THE JUMP!

Ninja Polish - Girly Floam

Hey guys! Just a quick post today to show you this super cute mani that I did not too long ago. This is 2 coats of Ninja Polish Girly Floam over 1 coat of Julep Anne.

Julep's Anne is a great bright purple creme & it was perfect to put under Girly Floam. I'm a lover & owner of the original Floam by I'm Feeling Nail-Venturous, so of course I was super excited when Ninja Polish put out this lovely version. Girly Floam is pink & purple matte glitter in a clear base & man, do I love matte glitter. It's a thick polish, so you have to let each coat dry completelyyy before you apply another but it's totally worth it! It's also top coat hungry & will need a few coats to be shiny (I probably could have used a coat or two more in the pics above).

Do you have any of the Floam polishes? Do you love matte glitter as much as I do? Let me know in the comments!

Revlon Brilliant Strength - Beguile

Revlon has really been stepping up their polish game lately! Every time I visit the drugstore I see a handful of new Revlon polishes that immediately go on my wish list. One such polish that I finally scooped up is Beguile from their new Brilliant Strength line.

According to Revlon's website, the Brilliant Strength line has a "strengthening formula that combats breaking and brittleness and features a built-in protective base and top coat". Sounds good to me!

The swatch photos below are two coats with Duri Miracote topcoat & were taken with flash.

Beguile is a deep blue with green & purple duochrome. The duochrome effect isn't super strong, but you can definitely see the shift in good lighting & it has a nice shimmer to it. The formula was good, nice consistency & opaque after 2 coats.

Like I said before, I'm super excited about some of Revlon's new polish offerings & hope to feature more of them here soon!

What do you think of Beguile? Have you seen any interesting polishes from drugstore cosmetics brands lately?

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Aqua Lily!

I was lucky enough to pick up RBL's Aqua Lily during their most recent Bring It Back event (BIB4) & I was so excited when it arrived yesterday! Of course I had to put it on my nails as soon as possible & I decided to pair it up with another RBL fav of mine, Scrangie.

Rescue Beauty Lounge - Aqua Lily w/ Scrangie accent

Sorry for the awkward picture, I don't usually photograph my right hand but my left ring finger nail was involved in an unfortunate accident (aka - it broke).

Formula on both of these is great...pictured here at two coats with Duri Miracote topcoat.

Did you pick up any of the RBL BIB4 colors? What do you think?
